Abstract:

Objective: In this study, we evaluated anti-inflammatory activity of leaves of Fumaria parviflora (F. parviflora) and underlying mechanisms by using in vivo models of inflammation.Material and Methods: Albino Wistar rats of either sex weighing 150 - 200 g were used. Soxhlet ethanol and aqueous extracts of leaves of F. parviflora (EFP and AFP) were prepared. The anti-inflammatory activity was studied using carrageenan-induced paw edema method and cotton pellet granuloma method. Levels of cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1 and activity of antioxidant enzymes including catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) were estimated. Results: Leaves of F. parviflora demonstrated significant (p

The Effect of Satureja bachtiarica on IL-6 and TNF-α in Rat Treated with Thioacetamide

Background & Aim: Acute liver damage, inflammation and oxidative stress are underlying tissue necrosis and development of ciroces. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Satureja bakhtiarica extract on acute liver disease induced by the thioacetamide and TNF-α and IL-6 cytokines level.  Experimental: In experimental study, 36 Wistar ...

Predictive values of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-10 for radiation pneumonitis

Background: To investigate the expression of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-10 in the plasma of patients with lung cancer who received radiation therapy (RT), and to analyze the correlation between these cytokines and radiation pneumonitis (RP). Materials and Methods: Patients with lung cancer who received 3D-CRT in our hospital were prospectively evaluated. Circulating cytokine levels were measured wit...

IL-1/TNF-α Inflammatory and Anti-Inflammatory Synchronization Affects Gingival Stem/Progenitor Cells' Regenerative Attributes

Cytokines play major roles in tissue destruction/repair. The present study investigates proliferative and osteogenic differentiation potentials of gingival mesenchymal stem/progenitor cells (G-MSCs), influenced by IL-1/TNF-α inflammatory/anti-inflammatory conditions. Human G-MSCs were isolated, characterized, and cultured in basic medium (control group, M1), in basic medium with IL-1β, TNF-α, a...

بررسی غلظت IL-1? و IL-6 و IL-8 و TNF-? در کنسانتره های پلاکتی

Background: As increase of cytokines (like IL-1 , IL-6 , IL-8 and TNF- ) in platelet concentrates (PCs) during storage are involved in Febrile Non Hemolytic Transfusion Reactions (FNHTRs) after Platelet transfusion, the aim of this study was the survey of these cytokines level in PCs produced in Tehran Blood Center. Materials and Methods: This study proposed to determine if WBC reduction in P...
